On May 2, 2026, Jasmine performed a set of traditional Chinese dances at a new venue: Zhou B Art Center. Though it was their first time hosting, the staff were incredibly welcoming, and the space embraced a wonderful array of diverse performers. All four Jasmine dances that were performed were broadcasted on two huge panels outside and inside the art center, captivating all who saw them.
The first dance was performed by our senior dancer, Cindy Jiang who graced the stage with "Han Dynasty Flute Dance", a classical Chinese dance inspired by Han Dynasty court culture, using a flute to enhance her graceful movements and evoke the elegance of ancient traditions.

Following Cindy, Sophia Yu took the stage with "Elephant King's Journey", a solo set to music by Guan Dazhou for National Treasure. The elephant symbolizes wisdom and strength, and the dance balances gentle movement. Blending tradition and modern style, it expresses confidence, unity, and harmony.

The last two dances consisted of Katie Chen performing "Dancing Peacock", and Victoria Han performing "Playful Fox". Each dance consisted of different types of movements, from elegant to quick and playful. Both eye-catching dances captivated the audience, and gave a glimpse into the variety and diversity of Chinese dances.

Overall, this performance created a meaningful opportunity to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures through the arts. The Jasmine Chinese Dance Group (堪萨斯茉莉花舞蹈团) was honored to perform at the Zhou B Art Center and contribute to the festival’s diverse artistic community. We are grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to share the beauty of Chinese dance while celebrating cultural heritage and connection.
