GIVING HEART YOUTH PROGRAM
Founded by youth member Cindy Wang, the Jasmine Giving Heart Youth Program is a community service program whose purpose is to enlighten and enrich others lives though performances and fundraising efforts for causes across the country. The program focuses on providing performances to local senior homes. Since 2011, Jasmine youth members have performed regularly at Santa Marta and Garden Terrace. Starting in March 2013, Giving Heart extended its community service efforts to the Heritage of Overland Park senior home, a senior home for disabled seniors. Based on their needs, Jasmine organized on a monthly basis thirty-minute performances on the first Saturday of each month.
In addition to collaborations with local senior homes, Cindy established an ongoing partnership with local Kansas City nonprofit, Operation Breakthrough. Through two benefit dinners, Cindy raised over $1000 for Operation Breakthrough's summer enrichment program, which provides less fortunate youth in Kansas City with opportunities to stretch their extracurricular and academic horizons.
The Jasmine Youth Giving Heart program not only offers an opportunity for our youth members to serve our community by using their special talents, but also allows youth members to gain critical organization, communication, and leadership skills.
