2024 Jasmine Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

After careful and thoughtful preparation by the Jasmine President/Executive Director Jinsong, on September 15th, Jasmine Board successfully hosted its 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival Member Gathering, putting forward a warm and energizing afternoon to bring our community closer and build a sense of a family by celebrating holiday together. About 50 people including members and their family members as well as special guests from the community organization participated in the event.

In addition to celebrating the most significant Chinese festival and immersing Jasmine youth in Chinese culture, the event offered valuable leadership and performance opportunities. This allowed Jasmine youth members to practice and enhance their skills, applying what they learned in their dance classes. Three members from the class of 12 & above - Cindy, Daphne and Katie who also performed dance during the event, have taken the opportunities of being one of hosts. They have practiced public speech and leadership skills through greeting, introducing, and organizing. As an ABC, Cindy’s announcement in Chinese was very impressive. It becomes a good example of how to make the best use of opportunities to develop talents.

Other youths from the class of 5-8 years old and the class of 9-11 years old brought beautiful dance performances to the event. Chanel, Tiffany and Victoria, who are from one family, performed the dance named “We are Family” which learnt from other dance school. The dance was a perfect plus to the event, which highlighted the message of a family-like feeling. 5 years old Victoria just became a Jasmine member starting this Fall/Winter session. Chanel and Tiffany who are in the class of 9-11 years old were the most active members in Jasmine. They have participated the most of performing events organized by Jasmine so far this year. Because of their enthusiastic participation and dedication, Jasmine board awarded them surprise awards during the gathering.
